When the U.S. takes the field Friday for an international friendly with Guatemala, soccer shoes it will mark Landon Donovan's first appearance with the team in nearly 11 months. And Juergen Klinsmann says it's up to the 31-year-old to show he has the form necessary to merit consideration for next summer's World Cup squad, should the U.S. qualify.
But Donovan, who lost his spot on the soccer cleats national team when he took a three-month winter break from the sport, says he's not thinking that far ahead.
"I'm committed to today. We’ll see about tomorrow," he said. "I’m nike soccer cleats going to take it one step at a time."
